ALCATEL ADVANCED TRAINING GUIDES

Making a internal call
® Lift handset dial the extension you are trying to reach OR begin dialing the number, you will automatically be put in hands-free mode.

Making a external call
® Lift handset dial 9 + number you are trying to reach OR begin dialing the number, you will automatically be put in hands-free mode.

Call the attendant
® Lift handset dial 0

To answer a call
® Lift the handset and begin speaking OR press the Speaker key, you are automatically connected. If you wish to switch from handset to speaker during conversation, simply press the speaker key and hang up the handset.

To answer a call at another phone (within your Pickup Group)
® Dial *73 the "Group call pickup" feature OR press the GrpPic key
® Dial the extension of the ringing telephone you wish to answer
® You will be connected to the caller

To answer a call at another phone (NOT in your Pickup Group)
® Dial *72 the "Direct call pickup" feature OR press the DirPic key
® Dial the extension of the ringing telephone you wish to answer
® You will be connected to the caller

Dial by Name
® Enter the party’s name (or the first few letters of the name) on the keypad and press Name key, Init key, Name&F or Cancel
® If the search is unsuccessful, press Modify to make changes or Cancel to quit
® If the search is successful, the system will show you how many matches are available and you can scroll through them by pressing Next or Prev to display names
® When the person you wish to call is displayed, press Call key OR press Enter key on keypad

Consultation Call – To make a 2nd call while currently on a conversation with an internal or external party.
® Select a free line key (the first party is automatically put on hold)
® Dial the number for the 2nd call
® You will be connected to the 2nd call

To cancel a Consultation Call
® Press the End key

To answer a 2nd call during a conversation
® Press the flashing line key and the first call will automatically be put on hold. You will be automatically connected.



To determine the identity of the waiting caller
® Press Menu button and the flashing line key
® Press Menu to cancel

To recover your first call
® Press the corresponding line key

To transfer a call
® Press a line key not currently in use
® Dial the extension of the party to transfer to, advise them of the transfer
® Press the transfer key to complete the transfer

Putting a call on hold
® Press the hold key or press the line key relating to a new call

To retrieve a call on hold
® Press the line key corresponding to the call
® If you forget or "lose" a call on hold, hang up the handset and your phone will ring, you will be automatically connected to the caller on hold

Switching between calls (Broker) – If you are in a conversation with one caller and have another caller on hold and you wish to switch back and forth between them.
® Press the line keys relating to the party you wish to speak with

Conference Call
® While speaking with the first party, press a line key and dial the number of the 2nd party
® Press the Conf key
® If you then wish to speak with the original caller, Press the Conf key again and the 2nd caller will be removed form the call. If you hang up at any time during the call, the two remaining parties will be left speaking to one another.

Parking a call
® During the call, Press the Park key OR Dial *75 for the Park Call/Retrieve feature
® Per the voice guide, dial the station number of the terminal on which you want to take the call.

To recover a Parked call at destination station
® Dial *75 for Park Call/Retrieve feature

To recover a Parked call at a different station than specified when originally parked
® Dial *75 for Park Call/Retrieve feature
® Dial the extension number where the call was parked

Camp-on a busy internal extension
® Press CampOn and wait do not hang up

Requesting a callback from idle or busy stations
® Press Callbk – the display will show that the callback feature is in effect
® Replace the handset, and you will be called back when your party responds to your callback request (or automatically when the line is available)

To cancel the automatic callback
® Dial the extension a 2nd time and then hang up

To access and answer callback requests
® Lift the handset and the voice guide will advise you that someone wants you to call them back OR you voicemail light will be blinking
® Press the voice mail key, Press the CallBk key and it will list the caller with the request

To program your personal directory
® Press Menu
® Press Prog to enter programming mode
® Press Keys key to program your personal directory or "speed dialing" list
® Press a display key or select a display key position to program
® Dial the internal or external number you want to store (For external numbers, remember to dial 9 + number)
® On the alphanumeric keypad, enter your party’s name (max of 6 letters)
® Press Apply
® Press End key

To dial a personal directory number
® Press the display key you have programmed for the number you want

To adjust handset volume during a call
® Press the plus + or minus - keys to adjust the volume.

Calling the last number dialed
® Press the Redial key

To mute a call while using speaker or handset
® Press Mute key
® You will be able to hear the caller but he cannot hear you and the corresponding LED will flash.
® NOTE: If you leave the Mute key on after ending a call, your phone will be in automatic answer mode. Which means your phone will answer automatically in hands free mode.

Adjusting the ringer – Melody and Volume
® With handset down, press Listen key to play current melody OR press Menu, Prog and Melody
® To listen to available melodies, press Prev or Next
® To adjust volume level, press the plus + or minus – keys OR Down key or Up key
® Confirm your choice by press End key Or by press Menu key

Forwarding calls to another Extension or Voice mail
® Dial *63 to forward on busy or no answer
® Dial *62 to forward on no answer
® Dial *60 to forward immediately with no ring
® Dial *61 to forward on busy immediately with no ring
® Dial extension or Voice Mail Pilot Number to forward to

Cancel Call Forwarding
® Dial *64




To retrieve your voice mail
® Lift handset and press voice mail key or dial the voice mail access code
® Follow the instructions to review your messages

Adjusting the display contrast
® Press Menu key, Prog key and Displ key
® Press the minus or plus keys to adjust
® Press End to confirm your choice
